"For I know that my redeemer liveth." Job 19:25
Letter from Missionary Ricardo HDZ Baltazar, Xilitla, San Luis Potosi, Mexico
We pray like the prophet Elijah when he said "Hear me, O LORD, hear me, that this people may know that thou art the LORD God..."
We know that his Word does not return empty.
We have set out to bring the gospel to the people of this entire mountain region, and although perhaps some have hardened their hearts, other have heard the messsage of salvation and accepted it.
We began laying the foundation of the church on January 6, 2026. The process has been slow because we have to carry the materials uphill on our backs for almost 100 meters (approximately the length of a football field). Although the work has been arduous, the brothers and I have done it with all our enthusiasm and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ for allowing us to build a house in His name. We still have much to do, but we place everything in the hands of God, to whom all things belong. Please help us pray for this request, since it would be the first fundamental baptist church to be built in Xilitla, San Luis Potosi.
Let me tell you that some religious leaders were not pleased to see us begin construction, and they quickly expressed their displeasure. They ordered the work to be stopped and gathered the entire town to decide whether they would allow us to continue building. That day, we were all on our knees asking God to give us the words to respond and to do His will.
When we thought everything was against us, we were surprised that more than half the town interceded for us in favor of the church, and its construction was approved unanimously by the judges and delegates. Glory to God because every person who voted in our favor is someone who has visited us to hear the Word of God. Perhaps they don't attend church, but we trust in God that His Word will do what He wants in every soul who has heard it.
It is truly our desire that every person in the most remote places of the mountains hear that there is a Savior, and His name is Jesus!
The name of the church is "God on the Mountain"
Pictures were enclosed of the workers hauling the materials up the mountain and construction of the church.
An heir of God through Christ,
